At British Hovercraft Company (BHC), we aren’t just building hovercraft but redefining adventure. Over the past thirty years, we have been pushing the boundaries, creating high-performing machines that glide effortlessly over land and water. As a result, we’ve become the world’s leading recreational and light commercial small hovercraft manufacturer.
But it doesn’t stop there, and we are proud to bring this legacy to New Zealand, where adventure is a way of life! Now led by Stuart, a passionate UK-born professional, Kiwis can experience BHC’s world-class hovercraft firsthand—from choosing the perfect model to expert maintenance.
Whether you’re after recreational thrills, commercial utility, or rescue operations, we have a hovercraft for you.
At BHC, we race what we build, and since 1997, we’ve led the way by competing (and winning) in events and performing in some of the most grueling conditions.
In 2008, two BHC-built hovercraft crossed the English Channel safely—a world first for small hovercraft that navigated busy shipping lanes. They made the return trip in two hours and used only 13.64 litres of fuel. In 2010, our hovercraft crossed again, with two passengers aboard —just to prove the first time wasn’t a coincidence.
This devotion to racing and high-performance machinery built to withstand real-world experiences and environments are shaped into every BHC hovercraft, making them the most accomplished, versatile, and recreational hovercraft available in Europe, China, South America, Australia and New Zealand.
Sold in over 50 countries, with a goal to reach another 50 and hit the 100 mark within five years, we are not slowing down. Our recent expansion into the acquisition of Reaction International (Hov-Pod) allows us to refine our recreational models even further.
The launch of the BHC700/750D is also a testament to how we are making waves in the commercial sector by launching a hovercraft fitted with powerful twin engines capable of carrying up to nine passengers, ideal for commercial, search-and-rescue operations and utility applications.
A series of customisation options, including climate-controlled cabins, luxury seating, and quick-release deck configurations, means a hovercraft tailored to you and ideal for work and adventure.
Every BHC hovercraft is Made in Britain, built for the world, and ready for New Zealand. Whether you’re exploring remote coastlines, tackling rugged riverbeds, or chasing adrenaline-fueled experiences, we’ve got the perfect craft at BHC.
Join the revolution and be among the first in New Zealand to experience the thrill, freedom, and innovation of a hovercraft.
